Unless I am mistaken, the Ranger comes stock with the same 2.3 liter 4-cylinder engine that ford has been using since 1977. There have been some improvements that they have done on it like fuel injection, distributorless ignition, and dual spark plugs on each cylinder but for the most part its still only a 105 HP engine. An e30 will outrun most average cars on the market today in spite of how old it is.
