Nice Colt Napalm. It brings up another point of mine, I'd really prefer my first gun purchase to NOT have an accessory rail on it. I don't want one, because I don't feel I need one at this point.

I have one that is a blast to shoot <--pun intended. It won't win any awards based on looks, but it shoots just fine. Get one and a case of surplus ammo and you'll be set for a few months of shooting depending on how much you shoot and how much of a beating your shoulder can take. Oh, I should mention that I have an M44 carbine, they kick plenty but the full size 91-30 is not so bad. My dad refinished his and it cleaned up really well, just sand off the cosmoline finish and there is actually nice wood underneath it all.

Mosins are great, really you need to look for the Finnish ones over the russians and in particular the ones with VKT stamp.

Look around you can find the VKT's for 250-325 all over the place and the Taikia for even less than that.

Alright R3v, I'm back again asking for advice on teh situation.
My birthday is next week, and the gun show is around the 23rd. I was at the local gun store last night talking to the guy if they had what i wanted (springfield 1911 loaded park. finish) and he tells me first of all, no. And that SA literally trickles their feed of pistols into stores. He could special order it for me and I might not see it for 9 months, so obviously thats not an option. He pretty much told me that its a crap shoot to find what I want out of a SA particularly at the gun show, I just gotta beat everybody else to it.
Now, there is another guy selling an unfired 1911 loaded park. on THR for around 650, I'm guessing when all is said and done I'd pay a little under 750 which is about factory price.
What I was going to do is ask to be 2nd on the buyers list for that gun and go to the gun show anyways, and if I can't find it there I'll start looking online. BUT, should I just order it anyways and not worry about finding it at the gunshow? My birthday IS on tuesday, I could order it and have it ready to be picked up the next time I'm home.
So here are my options:
1. Wait till gunshow to buy the handgun, and if I don't find it then, start looking online.
2. Order the gun from somebody online, and then go to the gunshow and start buying ammo/accessories.

Buy it online though a reputable dealer and have it transferred in to your local gun store. Transfer fee should be no more than $25.
