zooommmmmbie thread revival!!
Hey guize, I'm bringin my pistola with me to my college apartment and I'm looking into getting a small safe just to be on the....safe (lol pun) side. Any recommendations? I don't think I'll need a 150 dollar biometric super fast access safe, but I'd like one that's decent. Any suggestions in this department?<---Goodnight, sweet prince

Picked up a Safariland retention holster for my service size XD40 yesterday. My new favorite holster? Maybe not, but definitely a NICE rig.

^ oh I figured it would be implied I'm going to have a steel security cable attaching it to my desk.
Also, nice holster, is that like a padding to keep from scuffing up the gun on the inside?<---Goodnight, sweet prince

Alright, after trying to sift through reading the information and just awesome gun porn, I've got a few questions as someone who's never owned a gun before.
Recently, my wife was robbed while holding our then 10 month old boy. All while I was hurt with a semi-crushed vertibre at home, on the couch, barely able to move. Needless to say, I nearly disabled myself getting to her after the phone call came in and really, really don't want her to be in this position again. While everything turned out 100% okay (besides losing the paycheck freshly cashed and the general shitty-ness of the ordeal) I would really like to get both of us into carrying most if not full time. So! In conclusion to the novel, here are a few question's for the more knowledgable on guns from our fine e30 community...
What would be a good size for a 120lb, 5'8" half Czech gal with a small purse? Price on this is not an issue.
What educational resources would you point both of us into?
For home, I was thinking of picking up a gun safe, 2 shot guns (which guage would be suggested?), 2 hand guns, a small stock pile of ammo and all on top of our daily concealed carry weapons which I'm also seeking guidance on.
For myself, I was looking into the P220. Any suggestions there?
Thanks in advance, gentleman. I look forward to continue reading all 100+ pages I skipped to ask this question and any help, advice, tips, hints, resources or guidance offered ;)Need a part? PM me.

home defense...i have a pre-ban mac 10 .45 2 30 round mags. i can empty it in seconds... chances of me getting them before they get me...most pistols have 6-8 rounds...a 45 will turn your house to splinters. its small easy to operate and use.($400)
a shotgun is okay... it makes a big noise...big size you cant cut them shorter, it takes awhile to reload and small capacity. not suggested for home defense.
know your house, keep your children safe and out of the possible direction firing.
be prepared to use it. don't let them take it from you, Washington has the castle law
if they come in your castle...
if your on the street make sure you call the police FIRST and tell them your afraid for your life!

I live in Renton. Even worse than Tacoma recently. Thank's for the information.
A shotgun for home defense was given to me by a Police officer who is a buddy and a fellow Mars Hill church goer. In his words, "No aiming, just spraying and it clear an entire hallway of anyone in it. That's the plus and the danger with them..."Need a part? PM me.

in Washington c.p.l. concealed pistol (not weapon) permits are 75 dollars and a two week wait. your wife sounds about like the size of mine, she is comfortable with a .380 auto-mag or a .38, she just bought the new smith and Wesson bodyguard. its small, streamlined for easy access from clothing(nothing to get hung up on) and a built in laser sight($400). you can read until your head hurts, just go to the range and be familiar/comfortable with your weapon, that is really the very best advice you can get on shooting. the p220 is considered a sub machine gun. you can only carry(concealed)a pistol in Washington. i know because i lived in Washington, its a open carry state though...holster in the open, don't go to schools or bars.

Yes, it has some sort of rough leather padding in it, I was happy with that considering its the only one I saw that day that did. The Blackhawk etc are just plain kydex or whatever.1985 RX7 - Badassery Exemplified.

I'm just saying, don't discount the trusty shotgun for home defense. Especially when fitted with an LED light of some sort.
