I am not a big fan. While I have noticed they have picked up the quality in recent years and are trying to shed the stigma of the past reliability record, they just dont fly on my radar that much.

I guess it all depends on if you plan on using it just for fun at the range or if its going to sit in your night stand if you need it or on your hip as a CCW. Just a range toy then yeah if the price was right I might pick one up, but since most of my pistols and wheel guns have a dual purpose as defense, weapons I tend to stick with weapons with a better history of quality because of that. And most I have shot dont point well for me either.

Wheel guns I do think are better than their autos, and they do have a decent trigger and action (the ones I have shot anyway). Might even carry one for a bear gun while hiking if I didnt already have 2 rugers and 2 smiths

for about the same price as a you can pick up a glock compact as well. You have a few options for compact 45's in that price range or a little more. I do know guys that will swear by Taurus and will consider almost nothing else, too each their own. mine is just one opinion, if it fits you well and you shoot it well, then by all means it may just work for you.

I have a Springfield XDm 9mm that I shoot pistol comps with and it hasn't ever let me down. I shoot it completely stock and love the high round count. My next purchase will be a Kimber Tactical II in .45, and I've finger banged a lot of pistols. As soon as I started playing with the Kimber I was instantly bummed I hadn't bought it before the Springfield, but I love my XDm.

R3v won't let me upload pics, but I've got a Savage 12ga hunting shotgun, .308 and .30-06 hunting rifles (don't know brands off the top of my head), .22 Mossberg WWII trainer, M1 Garand, M1 carbine. No pistols.

For those of you looking at .45's and considering a 1911, I can say hands down that the Ruger SR1911 is the most fantastic 1911 I have ever handled for under $1000.

As the story goes, HK had these fliers printed off for SHOT and were a bit late in getting them, so they didn't get a chance to review them. A couple hundred or more of these fliers were handed out before some common peasant brought it to their attention; "hey, isn't that loaded backwards?"

I just like continuing the joke by loading any magazine backwards when I'm taking pictures of a firearm. "Because you suck, and we hate you"

^ apparently there are. They're something of a collectors item. Based on the very very light reading I did on the subject, when Hk realized the error they immediately pulled them, and then re-released them with the bullets edited to be in the correct position. Some people will sell these catalogs as well, so if you find one that you are bidding on, be sure its not an edited version.

Just got done from the range. Fired 100 rounds of Lawman without any malfunctions to report. The PCR points very naturally for me, I can't wait to get even better with it.
