I fear you would prolly take a bath on the mags form a return on investment stand point, if they were not out right banned from possession like in NYS then the sale or transfer of your current stash will be outlawed AL/LA CO.
I would be putting my money into relatively innocuous looking and more conventional arms in a more traditional pattern You know shot guns and Scoped high powered rifles, and lever guns in calibers larger than 30-30, in fact I have been making the switch back to those since Newtown myself .
Namely shot guns of the pump and semi auto variety with a mag capacity exceeding 3 and 5 rounds. While some of the higher capacity shot guns have been regulated like the Siga, and a few other more noteable imports (F/N & Beneli to name a couple) that have gotten around it by moving production to the states and so on. Shot guns as of right now are not a huge target, but will be when it comes to Gun Control round 2.
After all its what papa Joe keeps telling us its all we need to defend our homes right???
Then of course its always good to put money into ammo and reloading supplies, I think Powder and PRIMERS will be very very hard to come by and will also be targeted by the antis, Brass and bullets and even if you have propellant are 100% worthless in a firearm with out primers, and primers will end up being the target. Ammo and supplies will become the weak link I think as they will try to impose a limit on what you can buy or store in your home, under the guise of public safety. You know you have a house fire with 10k rounds and 100lbs of powder in it, and you will be putting your neighbors and public service personnel at risk when they show up to put it out kinda thing. On that note a few years a go a guy was tossed in jail for having a "tens of thousands of rounds and hundreds of guns in his CA home" when the FD show up to put out the fire they found them and the PD confiscated it all and had him committed as mentally defective IIRC
