There are many S&W revolver collectors out there that pay pretty pennies for older guns that are in unhandled condition with box. You are talking early 90's though so not many models are jumping to mind with huge collectors values.Comment

My my, the Colt LE6940 sure looks like it would be a great fun right out of the box! Just might have to.
I bought a spikes tactical lower receiver and all parts associated with the lower but am undecided on the upper receiver build due to no experience with one. I may buy a Colt, get some range time in, and then decide in what direction I want the custom AR to go.

So I need to figure out whats the best way to store my 2 pistols for the next 4 years or so. I joined the Marine Corps and leave for boot in January and have heard many different things to do with them. I have a normal safe that will fit both of them in it to leave at my parents house but I have been told to cosmoline them and I have heard just clean and grease them a little bit and call it good. I really dont want to mess them up since I wont be able to touch them for quite some time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure it doesn't matter what they are, but its a Beretta M9A1 and a Smith & Wesson 1911sc
Thanks.Comment

Clean, oil, and store in a safe with some desiccant material to keep the moisture out of the air.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

That is really all you need to do. I would go a little more liberally on the oil of the major components than normal though.
I have one of my good hunting rifles that has been sitting in a pelican case for 4 years that I have not even touched other than to open the case about once a year to check if there is any rusting happening. Nope its all good put it back in the case and seal it up and wait till next year. My TRG42 is sitting in a pelican and will indefinitely until we move to a bigger place and I get another or bigger safe (I hate moving those heavy bastards).
This reminds me, I have to check on my shit stored in cases while I am here.sOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.
