It's so annoying that everything is so marked up!

Especially reloading supplies. It used to be so much cheaper to pickup in store at 30$/1k and skip the hazmat. But with primers at almost $40 it doesn't even matter

And I hate seeing everyone act like its Hurricane Katrina in the shops to. Bass pro last night was like watching a bunch of birds fight over a piece of bread

I know, I dont think pricing is ever going to get back to where it should be.

I don't think so either. And I guess that's just how it goes. I have a huge problem of refusing to pay more than I was before. Which sucks

Luckily I wasn't completely stuck with my dick in the sand when it started but I should have been stocked much deeper

Everyone eventually got over it with gasoline. You wouldn't get very far if you hold out for $1/gal. I guess one difference is people don't hoard gasoline regularly or resell it for a 3x markup online. Maybe supply will catch up or hoarding will calm and reduce the echo shortages... but there likely is an adjustment to expectations to be made. And part of that is people not aggressively pecking at any crumb they can find.

That is a great point! I had not thought of it like that.. And I always bitch about people that constantly complain about a few cents in gas price increases

I think if I had a more consistent variety of ammo I wouldn't cAre as much? I'm not sure. I just hate going to the store and finding only 10 boxes of the same kind that are much more expensive then they should. I have been finding decent prices online though so I think the best thing to do would be order in good bulk or get more than one person in on an order to cut shipping costs down

I have also noticed that some people have much better walmart stocks then others. It's sparse in the walmarts I check regularly. I do see people still getting some good stuff in others though

I guess you have to pay to play :)

              I am buying a 2" sp101 .357.... Soon.

Made up my mind, as soon as I find the right one, I'm pulling the trigger.

I need a good CCW for the summer. My 4013tsw is great in the winter time, but It's a little bulky for t-shirts and shorts.

At the same time, I refuse to carry anything less powerful than a 9mm... So the .380 is out.

My dad has a sp101 that I remember shooting when I was 13. I was able to get good groupings with it shooting a full on .357 mag load out of it (not .38 ) at that age, so I figure it can only get better.

Which reminds me, not sure if I ever posted photo's of that S&W. I've had it since I was 21, almost sold it a couple times but couldn't let it go... Glad I didn't. My favorite pistol I have ever owned.

I'll have to snap some better photo's. This was the one I posted to armslist a while back, but came to my senses before selling.

Yes, some people snatch up even crappy ammo for current average prices and poor selection sucks. But if you identify which brands you like and have a set price you'd be willing to pay, it's just a waiting game and let others peck at the crap. I've noticed that more places seem to be selling in bulk rather than caring to break up into smaller boxes. As long as it meets your target $/round and brand choice, go for it. You only need to snag a deal like this once in a while to be well stocked: http://www.rareammo.com/catalog/prod...1981af27dfc637 Even with shipping some online deals can compete with finding it by chance in a store. Another option is shipping to store with Gander: no ammo surcharge, no shipping cost, and not going to the store and finding they don't have what you want.

A local forum also posts up where people have found ammo (assuming they snagged a sufficient amount themselves) and use the WalMart app to find which store has ammo in stock. Or Ammo-Can.net: http://www.ammo-can.net/stock/?st=AZ&cal=45&prod=0 It's easier than just walking in to find out.

One last thing I noticed is waves of stock, where multiple retailers have new shipments at once. For example, CCI Stinger might have been in stock at one online retailer, then suddenly is available at Gander, and others. Even if you see it way overpriced at one place, keep an eagle eye out for others since the distributor probably sends out each batch to all at the same time. Sometimes inventory lasts a short time so a heads up could help.

Yep, I don't think anyone said it was a cheap hobby. Some people are sour it is more expensive than it once was, but should still be worth it. Maybe people just focus on shooting more affordable calibers.

It's a "pistol", no tax stamps needed.

I'm aware. I was just hinting that it would be nice to be able to put a stock on it.
