Added the final piece of the puzzle to my AR. Micro red dot from Primary arms. From what I read about them they stand up to reasonable amounts of abuse (surely more than I'll ever put my rifle through) and for the price i couldn't beat it. At this point there's really nothing else I would do to the rifle except maybe paint it if I'm ever bold enough.

Camo job is done, the actual color was hard to pick up with the artificial light...it's somewhere between the overly blue exposure and the overly yellow exposure. A slightly greenish FDE with a subtle pattern is what I was going for. This project is DONE, next is the AR build.

A cell phone pic (and a couple stolen from the interwebz) journey though my 10/22 tweaking process. Overall I'm happy with were it's at right now.

Started out with a bone stock 10/22 that I've had for a few years-

Bought a cheap used Butler Creek folding stock of ARFCOM-

Ordered this not so cheap fancy schmancy carbon fiber barrel from PWS.

Butler Creek doesn't make the folding stock to fit the larger .920" barrel channel. So I fixed that with about an hour and a half worth of elbow grease with a socket wrapped with some 80 grit. The first hour of it was spent using 220. Just start with 80 next time. I also added a medium length section of Magpul rail on the forend for tacticool ninja accessories-

Test fitting the barreled action. It's free floated nicely-

Added a cheap red/green dot and Magpul AFG I had in my parts bin. Folded length is 24 7/8". No California or Michigan for me I guess.

Extended length is a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles hair over 34" and tips the scale at about 5.5 lbs loaded.

Other plans for it is to find a decent 1-4x scope for it. I also want to chop and glass up the forend where the barrel band was. I was considering cutting the stock grip off and molding in an AR15 grip adapter to allow the use of an AR grip. I'm happy to wait on that though. I'll finish the stock off after the bodywork with snow gray Duracoat. I am trying to find a nice discreet bag to carry it folded up in. Hopefully it's nice out this weekend and I can get some half decent photos and shoot shit with it.

I was considering the Streamlight 88040 for the AR, but haven't placed the order yet. I saw one locally for $100 but they can be had around $60 on Amazon.

Its the Polytac LED 88050, so far I like it. Only paid $35 in eBay brand new. Wont hold up to a 12ga but should be fine with a compensated 7.62x39 or 5.56.

Nice little build ya got going on there. I have a 10/22 in the back of the safe that I got from my Grandfather. I was thinking maybe its time to tinker around with it a bit. I was looking into the exact same barrel so Im interested in your feedback.

Post up some range reports if you could!

Also check this out.... new bullets from DARPA.

Thanks man, it was a fun project and came a long way from the stock saiga sporter configuration. Still want an AR to get into 3 gun. Also still need to sell my Mossberg 500 combo barrel to fund a semi auto 12ga.

I have been bitten by the want for a PS90 again, with a stamp and a 10.1" barrel, and a tri rail w/ really fucking BRIGHT compact light on 1 side and green laser on the other on pressure switches with about 15 50 rounders since I need a stamp might as well get a can too. May even think about doing a SBS for a truck gun while I am at it

Interesting gun, would never want to own though. About as funky as I'd go is an IWI Tavor.

for my purposes for it, it would fill the role very well and while yeah funky it may be, its one of the better pistol round bullpups out there especially for overall length. I have a buddy that has a SBR tavor with some goodies on it... I might consider that as well but I am not as big a fan of 5.56.
