Turning my old hunting rifle into a long range target shooter. Its an weatherby vanguard .270 wsm. I got a Promag archangel stock and going to be looking for a scope for it. I know the .270wsm isn’t the best for long range but it will ring steel at 7-800 yards and make use of a gun I quit using. I’m not much into hunting anymore.

I have been impressed with vortex razor line at about the 1000 dollar price point for value for dollar. 270wsm is going to suffer at anything out past 1400 iirc due to lack of mass and starts to tumble around there.... should be decent out to 1000 if you don't have an chamber erosion starting yet

The gun is solid. I’ve put maybe 250 rounds through it in all years I’ve owned it. From what I read these chambers are good for 2-3k rounds. 1000 is a little out of my price range right now I was trying to stay around the 6-700 dollar range.

I’ll have to look at those. I was looking at a vortex one last night guys who wrote reviews were saying they are having no issues hitting the 800 yard mark.

Yea I know thats part of the reason I bought my other two vortex optics. Don’t get me wrong I love them. How ever I decided to give this one a go. Worst case I can return it. Seen countless good reviews and everyone loved them lots of people hitting the ranges I’m going for and being consistent and staying zero’d.

Initial impression of the scope is great. Seems very well made. The glass is extremely clear and it has some cool features like the illuminated reticle. The warranty from my readings of peoples experience and of the manual seems on par with vortex. Only thing they say is if you try and fix it your self or modify it then they are subject to deny your warranty but I’m pretty sure thats how everything is. Repairs and replacements are 100% free for life time of the item and they don’t require receipt or registration of item. I’m looking forward to taking it out in a couple weeks. Maybe next weekend if i have the time.
