Now that I look more closely at the pics it looks kinda like both of you are "tea cupping" with your support hand. AKA the classic movie star grip where your support hand is under the grip cupping your other hand.
This is not a good grip, the idea is to put as much meat on the grip as possible and use the support had as just that extra support. there are 2 styles of proper grip for automatics they are

I like the top one personally, the idea is to get you support hand palm on to the side of the grip and your thumb of that hand should be about the same distance up the frame as you trigger finger is outstretched on the opposite side. This give you great ease in both pointability and more hand meat on the grip to better stabilize your sight picture and get back on target faster for better follow up shots.
Sorry if I am wrong about your grip, but I kinda assume by your postings that you are kinda new to the whole gun/pistol thing. Just trying to help, so you dont have to try and break bad habits latter and get the right technique from the get go is all.
