im sick of getting ripped off

8 quarts of mobil1 15/50 to change oil in my e30. this shit never goes on sale in gods country and i paid 7.60 a quart this morning because i had to have it for a run tomorrow. whats worse is i dump it after a track day. has anyone analyzed their oil at one of those mail in joints?? im wondering if i cant run this shit 3 or 4k even though i track it and generally drive it hard whenever the ignition is on. what are you fuckers doing that actually drive their cars?? im not talking about running down for ice cream with your boyfriends. i mean hard miles at high temps and higher rpms
    eat an overpriced dick

Buy it at Wal-Mart. I bought 5 quarts of Mobile 1 10w30 for my Mom's Toyota for 23 bucks. I just change my oil every 3k miles in both my e30s. I just run dyno oil (Castrol GTX or Valvoline). My turbo car gets romped on everytime I drive it and my eta is Daily driven with spirited bursts and the once or twice a month auto-x. I have seen lots of tests showing that it takes up to 15k miles for Mobile 1 to break down, but it is recommended to change the filter every 3-5k.. So I don't see how changing it more often is helping all that much. You would obviously change it more often under racing conditions...but every track day seems really often.

Did I miss something? I figured you paid for something online and didn't get it....

So you went to a store... paid for something that you wanted.... but were upset with the price? Even though you know that its an expensive item to begin with? You know you could order online and save $$$?

I think they only make 15/50. Nando buys it for his car at Walmart I am pretty sure.

I'm running the Castol/BMW TWS 10w60 shit now, after smoking a lifter on my first track day running 5w40 Mobil 1.
Granted, it was about 95 degrees out and my motor saw 8k plus rpm on at least one occassion....
Not sure how pricey it is for you non-dealer folks, though.
I think the general consensus with the e36 m3 guys who track or race their cars, especially in hotter climates, is TWS 10w60 or Redline 15w50. I seem to remember that Mobil 1 changed their 15w50 formula recently.

So back to what I was saying...... You want something expensive but get pissed off its expensive? I'm just not following you here.

55 gal = 220qts = 700%? Thats like 3 bux and some change a qt? How much of a discount do you want to be happy with what you are getting?

I paid 5.29 a qt back in Nov for 0/20 m1. That was in shop and not online. Seems to me you need to check why you are using this if its not holding up to the value you are putting into it.

In a matter of seconds I pull up prices from 4.59 to 6.19 on various mobil 1 oils. You've offered a price solution to your own problem. Stop being a pissy whiney prick and just shell out the money for what you want or figure out a way to get it for less like everyone else does. Your welcome.
