Laptop + gps = What software?

Just picked up a IBM thinkpad, and thinking of picking up a GPS antenna.

What software should I be looking at?

Delivering innovative GPS-enabled technology across diverse markets, including sports and fitness, outdoor recreation, marine, automotive, and aviation.

My dad has been using Earthmate and their GPS for years, I think its pretty good, but I don't have much to compare to.

Yes, they make software that you can buy that comes with a USB GPS for your laptop.

It was on the page I linked you along with stand alone units.

I use CoPilot Live. It works pretty good and comes with a bluetooth GPS receiver (one less cable to dick with). I haven't comapred it to any other laptop systems though.

Microsoft makes a program that is supposed to be really good. Can't remember what it's called though...

I use Delorme Street Atlas (i think?) and I like it.
Its a little buggy sometimes but haven't any real problems with it. Im assuming other software does this too but I like how it automatically recalculates your route if you miss a turn or something.

There is also the garmin mobile 10, which is bluetooth for about 200 and it comes with their software, which is some of the best in the industry. Plus their world HQ is 25 minutes from me.
                Im now E30less.

If you plan on using this in the car, iGuidance is the only GPS software you should be considering. I used it for about 18 months in my e36 car computer. Everyone on mp3car.com agrees that it has the best US routing of the packages available. It also has turn-by-turn spoken directions, a birds eye view more and multiple routing types (shortest distance, avoid freeways, fastest, reduce turns).

It isn't cheap, but its the best.
