I've met alot of good people through it, business contacts, real life friends, girls, etc. It sounds ridiculous but wow is a great networking tool, my buddy got a raise because when he went to a new company his boss played WoW and they'd play together at night.

I cannot grasp the concept of WOW well enough to see the draw towards it but I can understand the addiction aspect of it. Back in the 80's (when I was in high school) I used to spend a lot of time playing an internet game called EMPIRE. And back then internet access was 6 cents a minute. There would be times when I would skip my last 2 classes just to get a head start on the rest of my opponents. It was easy to rack up $250 to $300 in charges on a monthly basis. Some of those guys still live at home with the blowup doll in the basement too!

Lol, :p Funny you should mention that, while playing you convince yourself its a good way to spend your time and well worth the money and time investment, it isn't until you convince yourself to stop that you realize how repetitive and old the game gets. Its really the community that "makes" the game, if it wasn't for the guild I was in, I would've quit a few months in, instead it took years.

My roommate plays Wow and has offered to let me play.

Meh...I dunno if I care to try. I get bored with most games after a while anyway. lol

My friends roomate dropped out of college and started selling weed to support his WoW.....now all he does is smoke 24/7 and play. No job, nothing.

I wouldn't touch that shit with a 10 foot pole. It's nothing but nerd crack.
