    btw the ball was in fact 1500lb (680kg), as stated above.

    actually, the ball wont' have more force or weight, it will have more momentum.

    force = mass * acceleration.

    acceleration down a constant-slope hill is a constant fraction of gravity; even if this hill drops some, its negligable for this purpose.
    the ball's mass isn't changing enough for us to care, either (it may lose bits here and there by dinging cars or pavement etc)
    therefore, constant accel * constant mass = constant force at any point.

    however, momentum (p) is related to mass and velocity. p = mass * velocity.

    .. in this case, mass is still constant, but the constant acceleration down the hill means consistently changing velocity;

    i.e., as V gets bigger, so does P. Momentum is what makes the difference between a fender bender and chaos.
