Anybody ever take classes in martial arts/self-defense? I'm registering for classes and I need to take a physical activity course and these caught my eye, although I've never been into combat or UFC. Would these be any fun? Or else I might just sign up for tennis (I'm a big tennis player) or yoga and hope some hot girls will be in the class.

LOL I agree, if you have never taken a punch and for some reason enjoyed it, Yoga might be the thing for you!Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

You don't need to be big into fighting to take a karate class - actually probably better that you're not. Guys who get all amped up on the karate/fighting thing probably aren't the kind of student that get very far in classes anyhow.
I took karate when I was a kid, only made it to my red belt - but it was fun, good excercise and I really liked it. I quit when I moved towns, but one of my buddies stuck with it and got his black belt & was instructing classes there to knock off some of the class fees.
It's a positive experience, and I'd try something new if I was you. Tennis is fun, but broaden your experience base in life. Worst thing, you get college credit & quit at the end of the quarter, but at least you gave it a shot. You may end up liking it & want to stick with it.
If nothing else you will never use the word "ouch" again. I hate guys that say "ouch" over little stuff. If you're really hurt, you'll yell a cuss word. "Ouch" is for girls.
It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Man, it's hard to decide. Yoga is sissy, but there might be hot girls. To be honest I don't like fighting but I just figured it would be cool to learn some defense techniques plus it would be good research for a thing I'm writing. One of my friends took tae kwon do a long time ago and he got pretty far.
I'm a 1337 tennis player though, i want to pwn the instructor, and it would be easy so it would take a load off my schedule.

I'd view the whole karate thing as good excercise if I was you. It won't magically transform you into Bruce or any Gracie, that takes years & years.
You'll learn the right way to make a fist & form for punching, but really just focus on the excercise, you aren't ready for a cagematch for a real, real long time.
Or take tennis and own the instructor if the rest of your schedule is tough. Yoga sounds like a bunch of hefty chicks trying to avoid tennis to me.
