By city, what do you mean? Houston in my opinion is a tiny "city" with tons of sprawl. Like Atlanta for instance. Granted our "city" or downtown area is loaded with tall buildings and looks like a metropolis, the sprawl is out of control. Mertro-Atlanta stretches an hour and a half in all directions from Downtown. Atlanta is at a growth rate of 21% a year and is only 3/4 of Houston's population.
I'm not saying it is awesome here, but it is pretty damn nice. I live a MILE from the center of town and my neighborhood is sick. It is 50-50 racially and everyone coexists wonderfully. I met all my neighbors before I even bought my house. I dont live in a track house or neighborhood. I live in an awesome bungalow that was built in the late 20's. My neigborhood can be traced back to 1910. I paid a quarter of a million dollars to live in a neighborhood that will do nothing except appreciate. And I got in cheap. In the early 90s my neighborhood was actually a "bad" area. Now Kirkwood is booming. There are very stringent building codes here and if a builder wants to tear anything down they must go through historical preservation first. I am very proud to live in Atlanta, I could have lived anywhere I wanted and actually have. From Va beach, Nor cal, Dallas,
and Seattle, there is no better place than here, cost of living, food, and people. Atlanta has it all.
