We paid a tad over $20, but I am sure it could be had for less. We got the white tourist price.

Man, I need to get myself a machine. But I don't drink latte's. I like as much caffeine as possible, so I drink Americano's (Espresso and hot water). I guess I could save the 3-4 dollars a day at Starbucks and get a decent espresso maker. This thread is inspiration.

Oh, and Linus, that is pretty impressive.

                -Beans
                -Grinder
                -Espresso
                -Roundie 02's

HAHA - I just got to reading this post, and I actually have an aunt Janice. No idea why that seems so funny to me, but strange how that was true.

                -------------------------------

Atomic - that 3rd pic is what my epileptic butt is trying to make, like I said I can't get my foam to 'push' out to make those curved 'leaves' in the rosette.

The first 2 & the last 2 look like they were done with a pointed stick, kind of just like drawing on a piece of paper, but the middle pic you do just by your pouring technique.

                If I find a video I know I've seen, I'll post a link.

Otherwise, there's a whole forum to explore on coffeegeek just about latte art.

                -----------------

I hit the same boat as blunt, pure economics makes a $1K+ espresso machine pay out in less than 2 years, plus you are the only reason it didn't turn out perfect like you want it, and you know what you need to do different the next time at bat.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

linus, im dragging this post up from the dead to show my nut and bolt restoration of my espresso machine. the thing has been leaking for a long time it seems but it was hot enough to evaporate and actual leakage yet let it stay moist inside 24/7 so i was shocked when i opened it up. the vibe pump was leaking and so corroded it had to be replaced. i decided i would tear it completely apart and bead blast it and send the frame off to the powder coaters. heres a pic of the nastiness i saw when i opened it up

so i threw it all in the bead blaster, ordered up a new vibe pump and sent it off to the powder coaters.
removed and redid the harness and waited for it to come back.

took a week but i got it and assembled it after soaking all the copper and boiler in a citric acid bath. here it is all done but without the stainless sides and front. im making sure there are no leaks and then it goes back together. i pulled about 20 double shots this afternoon trying to dial it in and i drank maybe half of them. i feel like i just did some meth and probably wont sleep all night.

i also picked up a new toy.. its a serious press. it has a clutch in it that you set to 30lbs of pressure and when you press your group it slips when it gets to 30lbs. i think its a sachs sport clutch but not sure

That's for the burrito's blunt cooks up. Can't you see the flaming anus cooler tip?

That machine looks like the inside of a beat ass Swamp Cooler.

yeah, when you reach up to grab a coffee mug, you might have an oven rack, or a dish brush, or a frying pan fall on you!
