Fact is, people need to get off the "racism" kick --- no, the war is not against all Arabs, or against all Muslims... or even against all terrorists. But people need to be able to identify the collective group of people when we discuss the topic. Being that even the government doesn't know who all of the "bad guys" are, your average Joe on the street certainly is going to able to be 100% accurate. So let's get right down to it --- what do YOU want the "baddies" to be called?

As for the missiles --- I know that Bush has multiple militaristic and intelligence arms of the US government at his fingertips, advising him, counseling him, providing him info. I also know that I have NONE of that information available to me --- only the bullshit "scraps from the table" that are thrown to me by a biased media w/ an agenda. Therefore, I know that my opinion counts for nothing on this topic, because I obviously don't have the Big Picture.

However, I think Bush is a smart man, I respect his principle and his backbone, so I stand behind him.

So I'm reading the above article, and sort of wondering to myself who or what is a threat that we feel we need missles there?

I'm far from a peace-loving hippie - so if anyone here understands the strategy for the missles, and especially at the cost of our so-so relationship with Russia, then please explain.

It doesn't seem the missles would reach as far south as Iran/Iraq - or as far east as Afganistan or Pakistan, so what within the range of these missles is something we find a threat?

Something still going on in Bosnia? - That's my only guess, and a total shot in the dark at that.

You may want to read the article again. Firstly they are not ballistic missiles at all. They are in fact "anti"-ballistic missiles. Intercepting missiles, a missile defense system aimed (no pun intended) at keeping the "bad guys'" missiles from nose-diving into target nations. It's really a money making scheme for the absurdly powerful and rich. Check this out...
