Here are a couple of tools we use in my metallurgy and applied strengths courses:

An old school Tinius Olsen tensile tester. Missing is the strain gauge apparatus.



Here is a Tinius Olsen impact tester. This one is pretty old too, but still very effective. I want to put an accelerometer on the pendulum, but we shall see.



And here is a picture of my professor in the old construction management room. We had a lab in there and I erased part of the board before deciding to make a picture. This was done for blunt. Took him a minute or two to notice it. He had a small chuckle.
