Funny. I posted this same question a few months back... and you locked my thread.

I think they changed how many times you can install it. I used to use 1 key several times at work. Now I can only use it once. I will get a message saying the key is maxed out when I try to use it twice.

Oh.. yeah.. sorry.. I forgot to add that what I said applies for volume licensing and you need a volume license version of XP Pro.

Um, automatic updates works fine, and really, Microsoft online support sucks ass.

I'm not saying it is ethical or legal, I'm just saying it can be done. My mom's laptop was the 4th time I used the same disk (authentic XP disk) to install windows on two separate computers. It installs fine, then I use the call option to activate it.

It was actually cool. Their system is all automated now and it has voice recognition, so no dialing numbers, just say what they need to know.

I use to have a boss that was too cheap to spring for a second and third copy of XP... I finally when out and purchased Xp for my systems just cause it now worth the risk/hassle

But if you really did loose your key - google is your friend....

Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

          enjoy...
