You have a good knack for tuning into the crowd, and feeling them out. You always play really good tracks, and for the most part there's pretty smooth transitions ;)

good DJ's know how to work the crowd and bring them to the dance floor but also make them go drink too... floor rotation is what it is all about and by doing so you make the crowd thank you are a rock star !! sounds like the club needs to market their place in different ways to draw the crowds... The places I use to hang at in the 90's were always doing 600-1000 on weekends and were rated at 300 max but keep up the good work and do you do the lighting as well or do you have someone sitting there with you taking care of that ?Comment

The venue usually holds way more than 100. Club space miami can hold upwards of 3k people. But dnb nights dont attract many people because the music is not really popular in miami. Yeah defiantly clubs have allot of overhead and their number 1 priority is liquor sales. I used to bartend so i have a pretty good idea how to run a club/ a profitable bar. As for floor rotation i personally feel that when the club is somewhat packed just keep people dancing and they will eventually get thirsty. You cant do that on small nights though because there is only so much one can drink while sitting on a couch :). Depending on the timeslot allowed though i will mix it up allowing people to move around get a drink and chill. I cant have the people attached to the speaker because im playing heavy popular tunes back to back. Because of 2 reasons...good DJ's know how to work the crowd and bring them to the dance floor but also make them go drink too... floor rotation is what it is all about and by doing so you make the crowd thank you are a rock star !! sounds like the club needs to market their place in different ways to draw the crowds... 1. The set will not have any high and low points just good songs all across. So the set will have like no warmth to it. It will feel normal and unnew.
2. Just cause people want to hear their favorite song does not mean all that your going to play is mainstream known tunes. A good dj will play some old some new and some unheard to most.
As for lighting someone controls the board. Its not my cup of tea but i could figure it out if needed to, and as always there is 1 sound engineer @ least fixing and tweaking anything that needs to be changed on the fly.
And too natariix thanks for always supporting me. Hopefully one of these days well have a good dnb night :)Last edited by e30 gangsta; 08-28-2007, 09:15 PM.Comment
