doh. a google search suggests they are white van speakers? They were given to me long ago, and came in decent boxes. And, like I said, I rocked them hard. If they were white van speakers, I am impressed, and would suggest them to anyone on a serious budget.

        partsexpress or madisound.

the problem is. you need to find the exact same driver, or your speaker won't sound the same. the next step you can take is figure out the volume of your cabinets, then look for a proven speaker project that you could clone. as you know every speaker driver and crossover is different, it really depends on what your goal is and your expectations ;)

          2 words - THRIFT SHOP.

Thrift shops are especially good for stereo equipment. Most of the stuff is old and outdated but you can find a decent pair of speakers for less than $20. Heck- You might even find some white van speakers there!

Joe - what speakers you get depends a ton on what 'black boxes of voodoo' you own. Like in my case, I run DefTechs & Sony ES - but Missions sound as bright as MB Quarts from the late 80's.

But if you take those same Missions & put them with some Adcom or Denon gear, they sound right without a ton of tweaking.

Some gear just really pairs well with some speakers - sort of like a bottle of wine with a certain type of food.

You sort of need to decide what your course of action is in the HT realm, then work out from there. That is, if it even is an issue to make a serious 2 channel or 5.1+ setup or if you just want some tunes in the pad to lift brown bottles to with the buddies.

I know just enough to be dangerous, remind me the next time I call - I got to get some stuff from you in the next couple weeks anyway.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I think the reality is that our boi Joe just needs some fucking loud speakers.

Cerwin/Vega is the ONLY choice. Excellent speaker to pick up from a divorce sale.

D'ya even plan on surround sound ever, Joe?
