jflip, you are probably one of the most ignorant people on this board talking about "cheating" and whatnot. The film was taken the first week of the year, done with, nothing else. The team had a lot of weapons that teams incorrectly game planned for. If you noticed, the 1st and 2nd half of the season, there was obviously a downturn as more teams could look at what worked best, and that was double teaming moss, jamming receivers, and most imporatntly, putting pressure on Brady. Last night, to be honest, Brady did not have his best game, his passes were off, the pressure was tight, and there is absolutely no excuses. If anyone gives the defense shit, you don't know what you were watching, because taking away the final drive, they allowed 10 points. Did you see the Giants defense the last Pats drive, they were sucking air, so much for being young and out defense was slow and old. I can remember 2 of their players with supposed injurues, I think a plan to stall and gain some O2. All I have to say is did you see the pass to Toomer in the first quarter when he not only pushed off Hobbs, but did so with illiegal hands to the face, enough said. Being a Pats fan, not a bandwagon jumper like many around here, for my entire life, I am distraught. I can't even watch anything related to sports now, kind of reminds me of the 2003 ALCS, not the 86 world series like others have been saying.

Lol so what have you said that proves me ignorant? Brady had a "bad game" because the defense was playing great. You said nothing that wasnt already said. Yeah the patriots were great earlier in the year, so what? Hobbs got hand to the face, big fucking deal. YOu see that Patriot forearm/punch the Giant in the head after the punt when the play was over and no flag was pulled? Or when Light blocked a GIant in the back on a Welker screen? Who cares, a lot of people got away with a lot of calls. There werent any huge calls either way though.

The Patriots cheated in 2001. They probably cheated in the 2005 superbowl when Philly lost to them also. Theyre cheaters, and Im glad they lost. Now I hope those pieces of shit lose Moss and Samuel too.

I don't know what some of you are talking about, that was a great game. I missed most of the commercials and the half time show due to a keg needing finishing (bad move in hindsight: I feel like shit), but I did see pretty much the whole game. And even if there was some hands to the face, that was an amazing catch.

And Jflip, as much as I hate it, you are right about this being like the '01 Mariners. Epic failure pretty much sums it up.

If it does, well then I stand corrected. My original comment was how can a referee standing right next to the sidelines not see that play, to start the whole game off, pretty bullshit call to me. Overall, congrats to the Giants, could care less, we'll just see where both teams go from here, I can tell you this, the Giants better live it up, be a long time before they ever get this close again, mark my words.

The NFL destroyed the evidence befor it all got out. That tells me there was alot of it. They protected the team. That's not to say that the Pattys aren't talented as fuck. They got outplayed last night. Sorry, but they did. i was just as surprised as you. The Giants brought the right coverage through out the game and blitzed well. brady was on his back almost as much as Colt Brennen in the Hi Ga game. He never got a chance to utilize Moss, and that hurt them. I agree the defense was tired towards the end, and they weren't playing the right coverage towards the end of the fourth quarter. but if the defense was so "gassed" why didn't the Patty's score. They thrive in situations like that! You can't deny the touchdown that Manning threw even if he tried to give the ball away every pass before it.

Probably too long ago for most of you kids to remember, but these Patriots reminded me an awful lot of the 1990 Oakland A's. They just assumed they would win out too, and then proceeded to get swept in the World Series.

I would love to tie that smug pretty boy Tom Brady to a chair and make him watch an endless loop of his quote laughing off Plaxico's prediction.

Did you hear any talk from the Pat's side this week unless it was a rebuttle to some crack-head comment the Giants made? Didn't think so. Brady simply was confident that they would score more than 17 points, like any person who plays competitive sports. If you have ever played a sport, you play to be the best, not 2nd, that's why being a pro athlete takes a certain type of person. Because when you are playing against the best of the best, you have to be confident, completely different from arrogance.

Damn good Superbowl.

I would like to have seen the Pats win, so Junior Seau could finally have himself a chance at holding up the trophy - and it would have been cool for the Pats to have themselves a 19-0 season.

But...

... it was also cool to see the underdogs win. Tyree's sky-high leaping catch was awesome. Seeing Eli moving with a purpose was great. I did miss seeing Shockey out there, and I bet it ate him up having to watch the Superbowl instead of being able to play in it.

Audi R8 Commercial was awesome, and the rest were decently decent. The game was horrible, nor did I watch more thne 20% of it. Threw in L4YER CAKE, sick movie with an Audi RS6 Avant, so I was satisfied ;).

How can you watch 20% of a game and say it's horrible? that was easily the best super bowl I've seen in many years.
