                      so many applications... I recently repaired my backpack where the seems came lose with a cloth version of duck tape.

                          I didn't make the poster, and did you read the link you posted? I basicly got out of it that no one really knows the original term for it.

                              its DUCT tape
                              as in duct work for heating/cooling
