its slow going. its really only a few hours from being able to drive but im having electrical issues i have to sort thru. i finally got the motor to spin after thinking my wiring job was wrong for 2 days. come to find out it was merely a bad solenoid on the starter. now im dealing with what appeared to be a lack of oil pressure so im going to hook a mechanical gauge to it and see if the starter is maybe not spinning the motor fast enough to build pressure. i want to be sure before i attempt to fire it. the thing thats holding me up is im building another 69 with a stroker motor and dual webers. i have it done now and im driving it but its a whole learning curve tuning these carbs. otis is helping me over the phone and we have them real close. im going to chicago with it next weekend for vintage fest and when i get back im going to commit all my time to the orange 02

I hope you plan a slew of finished photos - I never have enough ///M2 photos on my hard drive - and I'm working on a purchase of a shell as we speak, so all the inspiration & detailed engine bay shots really help me with smaller details.

///M2 photos are the bestest porn in the world.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

i really dont have anything interesting you havent already seen. im close though and i think once its on the ground and cleaned up (it has 2 years of dust on it) it will be worth taking some outdoor pics. all the detail work ive been doing isnt interesting nor does it photograph well.

Let me know when you get that thing out of the garage and i'll bring over the zymol concours, I haven't had a car yet that is worthy of the use of it.

You forget where you are. This is essentially a room full of the nerdiest BMW freaks from all over the world. Even the smallest of little details is interesting to me. Actually they are almost more interesting, as I fight mild/intermediate OCD (for real) everyday & the saying "The Devil is in the details" is one I pretty much live by.

Engine bays on swap cars are my favorite thing to see, as you really can tell a lot about a guy based on how he does a swap car. I know you know what I'm saying.

I think you have a touch of the same thing as me judging by your E30, and after seeing a few shots of it I can't wait to see your final shots of the '02. Plus the color (Colorado??) is my personal fav on a black interior '02 as well. I'm personally planning either a white variant or a Hennarot exterior with a Alpina themed interior for mine, but that's a ways off.

I am fully aware I sound like I'm riding sack, but your '02 is pretty amazing to me. Lots of envy.

Bluntman, you and Bobby ought to come out to San Diego for one of our autocross weekends one of these days. See how we do things out here on the big track.

ben i would love to do that some day but i really think its best i have a sit down with kellie before that happens. i sense you have a frail ego and you will need lots and lots of positive reinforcement after i humiliate you on the track and i feel she is the one to dole it out.. its one thing when a peer smokes your ass but when an old man makes you cry like a bitch im worried for your own self esteem and welfare. im sure you understand. ill speak to kellie and make sure shes up for the task and we can make plans
