OMG one piece wheels. Not everyone is a period correct purist.

Part of what makes his car so amazing to me is the interior, also.

once again, I am not knocking his car at all- I also think its beautiful, but the sickest?
I agree Markus is my winner

I don't understand this line of reasoning when it comes from a guy who personally painted his M3 orange.

And I'm not slamming your car, I like it.

In fact I like how your car is different from all others, and I would be a crappy judge in a contest because I think yours, Markus', Swale's ex, Keith F's, Cramer's, Rey's, Mariano's, Vlad's, John's (JedM3), and Evolution's cars are all megapimp, just thankfully not carbon copies of each other.

Cramer's DS paint works well with gunmetal (whatever the name is) BBS's - and I envy how he can track it & keep it looking so fresh for shows. That's what makes his pimp.

But who cares what I think? - I can't even keep a period correct motor in mine.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned M3 Ryan's as one of their favorites.

While M3 Ryan's M3 is pretty high up there on sick factor, I personally think his cabbie>m3.

While, I really like Ryan's, I dislike the 19" wheels he has. I would hate to think of how harsh it rides over bumps and crappy roads.

I've ridden in Ryan's M3 - Not harsh at all. Even with J-stocks. He has that car so well sorted out it sick.

Wheels are WAY to big, and I don't like the filled and smoothed bumpers.

Smooth with J stocks and 19's? just can't see that. There is no sidewal to asorb bumps and avoid tramlining.

The wheels are heavy - they don't transmit as much of the harshness as you would think - plus they are oversized, forget what size tire he is running.

I didn't think it was harsh at all.

                    ..

angry PM? that was like 2 years ago. ohh, and trust me, I am the last to be jelous on here. My car is in the garage for all but about 3 days of the year uNDER A TARP. I built it for me to look at

I guess I am a little prejiduce about the wheels and yes, 1 piece wheels are ussually not quite the quality of 3 piece.-- most of the time(esp when your comparing 2 BBS wheels)

like I said twice, I am not for one second knocking his car- I also love the look of it. I am just saying that the rims are more e46 style IMO(which I know isnt anything).
period correct to me is meaning, I would never throw e90 series wheels on an e30- as well as e30 m3 basketweaves on a E92

As far as period correct- and my car goes, like I am sure Cramer feels about his car too- I like it and built what I wanted. I for one do not think my car is for one second even close to one of the nicest m3s out there- there are way too many ex DTM cars out there still.

                        sickest M3

                        How about this one?

Or how about one of the rumored white ones also. Sorry I couldn't find pics of it, but they do exist.

@Linus, i hope you're not referring to me 'cuz I am in no way in contention with those guys.

You're coming on strong, Man - I been seeing how often you pop up on S14 buyin' the parts. I stand by what I said. There's a few newer owners doing some awesome stuff, just nobody automatically thinks of them yet & in my mind you're one of 'em.

But it's nice to see you're modest.

Thanks man. But my car/s have no legs compared to the rest of those guys...not yet. But it wasn't an overnite thing though, I've owned the DS car since early '01. Its the AW that i just recently picked.

Btw, I do think that Cramer's set up is nice. But damn those silver & white Sport Evos, though. I guess we don't think of them 'cuz they're ghosts & musuem pieces that don't get driven or even seen to say the least.

Sorry to bump an old post, I just found this while doing a search for something... must have missed this the first time around and was too funny not to reply to!

Josh- I think it's funny that pic still comes up, specially under a search for 2008 M3.. hopefully by now they have more pictures on the web ;) That pic was taken about 4 years ago when I got the wheels and suspension installed... But I see it pop up on various forums from time to time, the google search would explain it :D

Honestly, I sometimes don't understand the hype myself. My point is, I like the car, it's how I wanted it to turn out... but there are many more nice M3s out there. I'm glad some people like it, but my goal wasn't to build a car that pleases everyone or anyone. It'd be boring if I did!

The wheels are just one area I did what I wanted, not what others like. I must say though, mine was the first I've seen with RGRs (yes 1 piece, classic design and forged to be lighter then 3 piece ;)) and many have turned up since then with them. That seems the be the #1 question I get about the car.

As for stock looking, I take that as a compliment. I like the lines of the M3 and don't want to change the appearance.. but if you're basing that statement off the pic Josh posted.. it is a bit old. Currently our cars are very similiar minus the mirrors, wheels and paint color ;)

Too bad Swale didn't technically own his car, although it was fucking amazing.
