    Aww!!! Dude!!!

Just got done making some toast. Found some spreadable-when-cold butter in the fridge. Read the expiration date to make sure it was good. 10-08-07. Still good. Put it on my toast, sat down. Took a few bites, "Hmm. This tastes strange." Look at date on butter again. 10-08-06. :-?

So, if I stop posting anytime soon, it's because I'm dead.

... So it's things like this that make you think it's a good idea to get an MG?

      Oh snap.

I took one bite of a bowl of cereal one day that I poured 2 week past the date milk on, and puked very quickly thereafter.

It's funny you say that. I've NEVER had anything on my MG fail on me other then maintenance items (read: waterpump, points, etc), yet today, I hot NOTHING but problems with my 88 Jetta today. Most of which was due to horible German engineering. ;)

Ur eyes played some tricks on ya.

Y'all remember that old cartoon (like a Popeye sorta cartoon) where these 2 sailors got stuck on a desserted island and hunger made see each other as hotdogs & hamburgers?

Hey Andrew, if you cannot be trusted to discern what fucking YEAR a food item went bad in, how the hell are we supposed to trust you as to whether or not you are even DRIVING a car, much less if it is broken, or WHO had the bad engineering?

                  Huh? Answer that, tough guy!!!

Yeah, just giving you shit because it is easy and fun.

HAHAHAHAHA - I can't tell you how many times I've been making espressos @ home, and I'll be in the middle of steaming the milk - once that milk gets warm enough to give off some 'steamy smell vapor' I catch on the milk is past good - fricking nasty thing to start your morning.

If I have the presence of mind, I do the sniff test before pouring, regardless of the date on the jug.

I do that too with all canned stuff - for some reason I don't trust canned stuff without giving a sniff before adding it into something I'm making like adding a can of refried beans to meat for burritos or chip dip, etc.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

First of all, fuck off! ;)

Second, I kind of just read the month and day because I didn't think there was anything in the fridge that old.

Third, the bad engineering is not putting enough room to get the gauge cluster in and out without tearing your hands up and getting pissed off at the car.

My original post was kind of a rant though. That day was bad the whole way through. Hopefully today is better...

Polish & East German engineers doing it on the cheap, built in Mexico. I think you can give "german engineering" a pass on that one.

88's (Jetta only) were still built in the Motherland. I don't remember VW going to MX until the A3 platform (aside from Bugs). A1's & A2's for us were Westmoreland,PA or Mamaland - if memory is serving me right today.

Golfs fell apart & leaked more than Jettas due to that sad fact.

I think the B4 platform was the last of the cars built in Germany. But an 88 Jetta was built back in the motherland!
