    One of my Details

Well, I posted a little while back about automotive detailing. I have been compiling a portfolio, but here is a quick photo story of an all day detail.
2001 Lexus LX. This belongs to a doctor friend of mine. He has had it since January, and has only taken it through quick washes since then. Three weeks before the detail he took a trip to Florida. The love bugs had been on the front since then.

The interior is dirty with a couple stains.

Here is the truck with the suspension lifted so I can really clean the underside, wheels and wheel wells.

6:30 PM, the truck is finished and ready for delivery.

Dr. Mac was so happy and excited to see his truck look so good.
More to come. I normally work on BMW and Mercedes...

Nice job. I noticed that there was a strait line on the tire where you missed the tire with the shine, probably because that was the spot that was on the ground. When I do mine, I usually move the car forward to get that spot.

    All in all, nice work.

Looks like a great job, what all did you include in your detaling process? Love those LX470's though, absolutely great truck.

I love detailing myself. Started up a mini detailing company as a summer gig but never got off the ground they way i wanted. Flyer money went to waste.

but........... a Denali. I would be half dead at the end cuz I tend to have perfectionist traits as well.

I am no newb. been at it for about four years. now I am full time with no second job (for now)

I keep my car very clean. it is a 1991 volvo 240, that shines better than most new cars.

I do not use a machine for the carpet. Shop vac big stuff, All purpose cleaner, stiff brush, towels, then shop vac.

I do keep change, unless it is a lot. And big cars are my favorite.

First off - I know very little about hardcore detailing - except what works for me.

so..."Dry with water blade and synthetic shamos."

I'm surprised you use a blade - I take it it's to get the water off that has not gone through a filter to remove calcium/hardwater?

Very very nice work - I'm sure the owner shit their pants seeing the car in the lot when they walked up to it....

since you do this for your biz - can we ask how much time it took(no fibbing) and how much you charge?

                        if not I understand....

1- Water blade is used by many detailers. It will not scratch the paint.

2- I love waffle weaves. They are the best thing for cleaning windows. Some people use them for drying the car, but I like my synthetic chamois ( I misspelled that earlier)

3- This car took me too long. I usually aim for 4 to 5 hours on a full detail. I currently charge $150 to $175, I charged $150 for this one because he has more cars and lots of customers that he can send my way. This one took 7 hours.

I am no where near as anal as a regular detailer. I take pride in my work just the same, but I am a math man and keep track of profit the way Hilary maintains her mustache.

Worth every penny I'd say!!! That would take me 2 days - at least....

                            Thanks for the info....
