I know all about the air filters and stuff. We (they?) charged 29.99 exact for an airfilter change. On some cars with the most bastardly desinged filter holders it's worth it, on piece of cake cars it's a rip off.
Ford Focus FTL. The "air filter" contains the MAF and the whole box, inculding some tubing. I'ts located right behind the front bumper, Driver's side. Big pain in the ass to get to and replace, plus it costs $250.

Thats on the 2003 + Focus 2.3l IIRC. Yeah, it's a big pain in the dcik.

I probably didn't get to do one of those.
But one of my favorites is the Lincoln Mark VIII. What a sure-fire way to make you fustrated. You have to halves of the airbox right, like most airboxes. Except with this one, taking it out is alot easier than putting it back in. Once you manage to wheedle the filter out (trying not to damage it in the meantime) you are left with two halves of the airbox with about 13mm of room to play with. You can get the filter back on the first half that leads into the intake, but then you can't get the other half on. Or you can take the whole shebang out, but then it won't want to go all together nicely.
....what else has stubborn air filters....e30s are a bit of a pain, but nobody else other than me needs to check the filter. And at least you have room and the thing won't mind if you tak the whole airbox out and deal with it that way.
