Yes, those laws suck, and yes they are enforcing them. My buddy on a local forum got pwned. All it takes is a couple cases with sharp lawyers, and they are going to drop it like yesterdays dinner. It's unconstitutional, as it takes away the whole judicial process, and makes the cop the judge, jury and executioner.

BTW, it's been in effect since Sept 30. They are simply using it as a cash cow, and to show that they are doing something without doing a lot, because you know, 25 deaths that can be somehow attributed to street racing (even though in most cases it was the victims fault IE not yielding the right of way while turning left), that means we have to pursue this bullshit to the full extent while gang bangers, murderers and drug dealers are running free after posting $500 bail.

Oh, and public health care. That shit is awesome. You know, get fixed for free? Don't worry about how you are going to pay for your bill when you have life-threatening injuries. Yeah, it's nice. Real nice. Being Canadian with public health care sure does suck

..the thing is with MANY countries is that they know someone WILL break the (new) law. So then the price is right for them.

Yeah, they caught 20 ish people during the (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend. All of them for 50 over speed limit. They really need to raise the limit here, it's rediculous. The stretch of road I drive between school and home is about 80 km (about 50 miles) and everyone averages 140 km/h.

140 km/h is the average speed here to. Once everybody drives that the vast majority are driving responsibly.

Safety yes..but traffic departments often come across as if they are a bunch of scaredy cats. Sheesh
