    scufs in clearcoat?

Well i am ready to kick my own ass. Just opened a box containing my custom carbon fiber coil cover and while inspecting it in the light i dropped it onto the edge of my glass coffee table and put a scuff in the middle and 2 light scratches on the edge of it. I dont think they are that deep but i am still ready to kill myself.

post your best methods for making it look perfect again? ill post some pics when i get the scratches out

Is the surface actually clearcoated, or was the raw surface of the carbon fiber just polished and shined? Can you get a few pics of the part, and of the damaged areas?

If it is actually clearcoated, you should be able to buff out any scuffs just like you would any other clearcoated part. Get some good detailing cutting compound and a microfiber, and just polish away by hand. Just go back and forth between polishing with steady pressure, and buffing out to a shine.

thats exactily what i ended up doing. The part was coted with an anti uv clearcote type thing. the scratches are almost unnoticeable now and they would be completely gone if i kept at it for a while. I was sufficently convinced that i could fix my mistake so i went to bed. Ill finish polishing this weekend
