Well I'm about to go for my first real loop ride rather than just tooling around town a couple miles here and there. I'm cutting a 25 mile route a little bit short, should work out to about 20. I'm pretty much guaranteed to be dead ass tired when I get back but I'm staying optimistic.. lol ;P
Oh, and I got my front derailleur to work, big time cable tension adjustment to get it there.

Dude you're in Petaluma, CA, in the middle of September, that's like, the PERFECT conditions for riding.-Erik

So lucky... Petaluma is one of my favorite cities I've been to around the country. Very bike and dog friendly. I'll make it back out there someday.-Erik

I put on a new tire today in the rear (just because) and adjusted my chain to bring my back wheel closer in. I wanted to give the chain a chance to stretch out before i set it to it's final length, so my wheel was all the way at the very end of the drop outs (typically something you shouldn't do). the bike looks SOO much better now, i will take some pictures tonight1989 Bronzit 325ia- Sold

Oh yeah, so the loop was basically 21.3mi. It took me a LONG time, 1:34, averaging only about 13 mph. I don't know if that accounts for my short breaks/falls though or if its pure when-riding-average-speed. I rode all of that except for maybe a quarter mile where the road was complete shit with nowhere really to ride except the sidewalk, so I didn't. No bike lane, a steep gutter, and huge mounds of asphalt where the side of the street ends to the gutter, that I'd have eaten shit on if I strayed too much in either direction.
So basically, I dropped my bike twice. I may have caught the first one if I wasn't using my clipless, and certainly the 2nd one. First time was about 2 miles in, the 2nd about 10 or so. First happened when I wasn't thinking too clearly and tried to go up a short driveway curb but I hit it at almost no angle so my front tire washed out. Brilliant. Left bullhorn shifter dodad got pushed way towards the middle so I straightened that out, but while doing that I noticed blood -- somehow I guess I pinched the palm of my right hand on the front brake lever. Scraped up the lever cover a little and put a tiny scratch on the frame. Well, its not brand new anymore. I used a self adhesive tube patch for a bandage on my hand.
The 2nd time was just as good. I'm going up a nice little hill but I've been riding a while so i decide to take a breather. Ok, time to get going again. Thing is im on this road with a crown, no shoulder or what there is of one slopes down. I'm about a foot away. Clip in on my right and push off, not enough speed. Oh shit, i know what's happening... thud. Of course I had to fall to my right side too. Down the shoulder a couple feet. Scraped up my rear derailleur this time.
I'm not too mad about it, if anything any of the metal stuff I can sand down and polish up if I care enough. I just hope my clipless falls are over with for a while :rofl:

corktape feels really good, i rode tonight on a biek without any tape whatsoever for less than 5 minutes on smooth concrete, and my hands/wrists hated me
cork tape makes a big difference, go to your local bike shops and check out what colors you like, only thing with cork tape is, they get super dirty super fast

Going to ride the velodrome in Ft. Lauderdale on Wednesday night. I'm stoked. They rent track bikes for $5 a day.
In the middle of fucking no where I might add as well.
What kind of bikes do they rent?
