Thats way too legit gr00v3. Looks like a great time.

I like steel for things with no shocks too. Theres something to be said for a good aluminum full sus frame though. If its built right, its lighter than steel and still laterally stiff which is hard to do when weight is a factor and you have all those moving parts to flex.

that they get their bikes for free and ride at a level where fractions of grams and drivetrain loss are really factors? cf has similar flex and vibration dampening qualities to steel, by the way. yeah an aluminum bike may transfer power a bit more effectively, but, again:

this is all imho, it's not like i am a professional bike mechanic. wait, yes i am.

lol, every thursday we have theme rides, that theme was the bandana ride, we all wore bandanas somewhere, but somehow they disappeared for the group shot. previous themes include: the mustache ride, short shorts ride, and bandana ride. upcoming themes are: doctor/nurse ride, tattoo ride, and halloween mask ride. if you have any suggestions, we're all ears!

Hahaha that's awesome man! We have like a 7 page thread on Flfixed about our "Daisy Dukes" ride we did... Only two people participated and one of them was a very unnatural sight...

Well in a world where people spend thousands to save grams, I'd say lightness is a pretty important factor, especially on inclines. If I'm pumping at the same wattage on my current bike vs. a bike that's 5lbs heavier, I'm going to be faster by a few seconds(or more) depending on the length/steepness of the incline, no?

Fair argument. Bikes aside, how much do you weigh? ;)

Have you gone? I was invited, but not gonna go. I don't feel up to speed on my riding abilities quite yet.

Has anyone ever owned a Cannondale bike equipped with a Lefty fork? I used to own an F500, sold it, bought a Trek Fuel EX8, built that shit up with King hubs, DT spokes, Salsa Delgado hoops, then sold it because it was a pile.

I swore by my Cannondale, because I flogged the shit out of it, and it never died. Im just wondering about the life/rideability of the Lefty, always wanted to try it out.

I think I'm going to pick up one of the $250 ebay bikes with the flip flop hubs within a month or so..anyhow, I've been browsing velospace and want to know some of the more popular websites for picking up parts and also what brand/where can you pick up the plastic 3 and 5 spoke wheels? I'm feeling the look of them, the CF one's are fucking tits but there's no way I'm spending the amount of money necessary to get the CF versions. Black plastic would do just fine, so what should I look into? All my knowledge is in the bmx and mountain bike genres of biking, I have next to no knowledge when it comes to road biking..

                            Thanks!

Well I'll tell you right now, even the plastic Aerospoke wheels are like $300. They're not cheap.
