You are going to want to raise the front of the bike up to level it a bit (can be achieved with a riser). Since the bike doesn't move from side to side, the seat can become kind of uncomfortable unless you put a padded seat on it. I run my regular seat ( an original san marco and it took some getting used to). I also travel for a living and consequently ride ALOT of different exercise bikes in Hiltons. They obviously offer a much wider range of settings. Right now I have my fuji on the hardest front and back gears, and the setting on the trainer on 4. It is a workout, and you can change gears, but it isn't as vast as a true e-bike ride on xtrainer.
All in all I like it, and for 45 bucks it really can't be beat. It is just not as comfortable as a gym bike. That said, I can ride whenever I want and if I really get at it for 45 minutes, it is a hell of a work out.

cool thanks. i could chuck the front wheel up a little bit if i need to.

im more worried that my basement is so uneven that it will be hard to find a level area to use. that and the cat litter box is down there...

Go to home depot and in the floor and wall area is a mat set that comes in a pack of 4. If you put the trainer on that, it should be level enough.
            Something like this.

              Damn that's a fucking beautiful frame. Too bad it's a 51.

              And those bars.

              And that saddle.

Found this cool site that lets you experiment with colors before you get on to spray painting or buying what you want. This is what mine looks like. Getting another seat post, my teeth are worn. And spraying my sprocket another color if I have time. Idc at the moment.

Love the New Yorker Langsters. The taxi livery is awesome.

What are some good inexpensive bikes you guys would recommend for someone wanting to get back into riding. I haven't owned a bicycle in probably 15 years, and I would like to ride again. I figure what I would be looking for would be something that will get mainly used on the street, and maybe a little trail use. Money wise I'm thinking no more than a couple hundred bucks. Thanks.

Sounds like you need to pick one or the other.
Do you wanna ride trails or do you wanna ride the street?

Mainly street. I was looking last night at a Trek 3500 I think, something along those lines would probably be best. What are some other comparable brands?

If you're looking at bikes like that. I have always ridden and love Specialized bikes. I had a Hardrock for many many years and loved it. I currently own an Epic FSR and an Allez. I would totally recommend a Hardrock.
