i traded a nitto njs stem and some soma drop bars to my buddy at the lbs for some soma everwears. they have been treating me very well

you can stop easily without skidding. skidding is just for fun dawg

although i went on a bike ride with this lady I'm sweet on last week. i stopped home after and riding to the coffee shop some woman in a grand cherokee was pulled over to the right. just pulled a Uie out of nowhere RIGHT in front of me.

I skidded to stop, and stopped in time. It was actually the first time I'd skidded out of danger, I usually just stop the normal way.

bitch had her window open, and starts screaming YOU MOTHER FUCKING PUNK ASS PIECE OF SHIT BLAH BLAH BLAH and I'm like BITCH! IT IS ILLEGAL FOR ME TO RIDE ON THE SIDEWALK. BIKES HAVE TO BE IN THE STREET. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO TURN WITHOUT A SIGNAL. AND TO U TURN ON THIS STREET. and then her passenger put her hand over her mouth and was dumb apologetic

I remember that. Now I have a Pearl 9 NJS stem with Soma drop bars lol

And I've been riding the everwears since December on my other bike. THey've probably got 200 miles or skidding on them. Very impressed.

What do you guys think of this bike? It's a mid 70's Raleigh Grand Prix. Good starting point? How much is it worth?



*edit* it does include cranks and pedals. And it has these badass wingnuts for the front hub.

so I went through the storage at my old warehouse and i came across my old FreeAgent back from 85' and my dads old street bike he had from Germany. I'll be working on getting these both back into proper shape.(although they dont need much)











plus if anyone knows anything about this bike, send the info my way. I'm clueless to this one.(other than the make)

Go EAD. I build my own bikes, ride fixed, and have been employed as a bike mechanic for seven years. I just don't see the point of wasting money.

I agree. I like that I spent $50 once on a brand new Tektro brake caliper and Cane Creek lever than spending $40-50 every month or so on a new rear tire. I skid a lot, but I also use my brake a lot. I've said it before, I don't agree with riding brakeless at all. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Yep. I spent $60 on my Cane Creek Caliper, and another $20 on my lever, it's worth the ability to stop.
