somewhat bike related, did a triathlon this weekend for the first time. sprint, half mile swim 10 mile bike 5 mile run. was in 13th after the swim, 20th after the bike, and 78th after the run (i SUCK at running). Got 3rd in my age group, however.

Anyone use Speedplay pedals? Or any other pedal reccomendations? I am thinking of Sidi or Northwave shoes or maybe the new Fiziks shoes.

do you know of any local bay area places to find nice old vintage frames/completes? I've been yearning to build up something vintage with flair for the school commute this fall. i've tried laney and a few other flee markets, but they're all bullshit. craigslist is pretty tricky too, as it seems all the fixie riders are snagging everything.

not exactly super local, but bike shop santa cruz always has a ton of vintage/ older road bikes for good deals all tuned up and ready to roll. might be worth a call to see what they have in stock in your size range to see if it's worth rollin down there.. i've bought alot of stuff from them and they are always easy to deal with and fair.
