When you move into an apartment you and the landlord take a ______ of the condition of the apartment.. I forgot the exact term, can someone chime in?

Have you signed the lease/rental agreement?

Write down on paper in your own hand writing everything you see that is wrong with the apartment/condo/house. Sign and date it, make a copy, and send the management a copy...

If the sink has tiny stain - make a note of it. Stain in the carpet - write it down - a ding in the fridge? Make note of it..

When you move out - the landlord will be sure to charge you for anything - no matter what - So be anal - be picky - make notes like "the paint is not fresh, and the carpet is worn"

I rented a place that was missing a kitchen drawer when I moved in - I moved out and got billed $250 for it.

5% of landloards are cool - the rest are money hungry bastards....

        HTH....

At least that is what it is called when you buy a house.

condition asessment? not that it matters now.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.
