I've worked in both macs and PC's, macs crash less, they are catching up on software, way too expensive, just compare a US$ 2500 mac with a US$ 2500 PC, you'll see that if the PC was properly assembled with full compatible parts (let's say) intel/intel, that 2500 dollar pc runs great. ;)

BTW of course a 2500 dollar mac runs better than a US$ 50 pc, that's a no brainer

(if you could figure out how to use it) you would be amazed at the way it does what it is supposed to do. it seems to me that you are just a sterotypical pc user that likes to reboot your shit box because it makes you feel like you did something. have fun with your blue screens of death, and you dirvers, and your lack of ease of use. not to mention the constent upgrades because of bugs and the bone chilling fear that your entire hard drive will be taken over by some 13 year old virus creation!!! go to the apple store and do like the other i guess 98% of the people and just play with the cool shit and continue to wish for a mac.:finger:

        thanx...phlip

        peace!!!
The reason why the PC is stereotyped for crashing so much is that there are just that many more people using the PC. And with that many more people comes MANY MANY more idiots using the PC. More idiots = more shit that happens because of them. Then these idiots come running to the press bitching about how they got the BSOD because they tried to wash their hard drives with a sponge and a mild detergent or something. This is the same group of idiots that go out and wash their car with water and dishwashing soap in a big cooking pot and a brillo pad, and/or using a terry cloth towel to wash their wheels, their paint, and dry their paint, and think they are doing it right.

Never in the past six years have I ever gotten a blue screen of death, gotten a virus, had a problem installing anything new because of drivers, or had to upgrade anything because of a fear of viruses. I don't run anti-virus, or anti-spyware, anti-popup, or any of that anti bullshit. Just know what the fuck you are doing on a computer and you will never have a problem.

Even my younger sister never has problems with her computer.

How fucking stupid do you have to be to fuck up on a computer. I mean seriously.

truth, when I had problems on a pc it was all due to their operators being idiots, and them arguing with me that BMW is not made in Germany, no joke..now she drives a jetta and has a German flag belt buckle, go figure.

yeah but can that be but into the "pc" realm??? not pc as in windows machine but pc as in personal computer. there are people that only deal with unix and linux and even the old sun and spark boxes. but that is a whole nother type of computer. i do not know if you are running a gui or just using text command but i think that is a apple to orange comparison.

Honestly I never restart my windows-based PC either. The only time this computer is off is when the power goes out or Mom goes to town on the circuit breakers trying to restart the dishwasher.

With that said, man, the dishwasher locks up more often than my computer!

Unless you develop a porn addiction or you get boners downloading suspicious files, you're not going to have any problems on a PC concerning viruses.

                    a. My pc doesnt crash and it has never been infected by a virus.

                    b. my PC costs the same as a comparable mac but is built considerably better and has features not even possible on the comparable mac. You can get other brands of computers with the same hardware as a mac for less money. The reason mine costs the same is because its made of magnesium and is a lb and a half less than the comparable mac.

                    c. The reason PCs get a reputation for crashing is because you are thinking of Windows, not PCs. Macs are just another brand of PC. The reason Macs may not crash as much (but they do crash) is because they are not running a million different unauthorized 3rd party applications on a million different architectures. OSX only works on a handful of machines.

                    d. I've used macs. Had one in my office for the fun of it for a while because it kept overheating so we had to replace the users machine.

                    e. and like I said for the virus/malware issue. Nobody wants to steal from mac owners because they spent all of their birthday money on their macbook and a pink TheNorthFace Denali jacket. So there isnt anything worth stealing.

(my computer didnt crash and this diatribe is being brought to you by integrated EVDOrA cellular broadband, something no mac has)
                    Im now E30less.

I switched to a Mac about a year ago and I could never imagine going back. Hell even if I get a wild hair up my ass and decide that I miss Windows, just hold down "alt" during startup. Poof! Instant Windows! I haven't logged into Windows in 6 months and I don't smoke the weed.

my powerbook has never frozen or crashed. Never had any problems what so ever.

Now, I just finished building a PC and installing windows. What a fucking pain in the ass that is. i'm like 35 restarts in, and not done yet.

The simple fact is that OSX is supreme to windows because it is Unix based. It is not only more stable, and secure, but it is much more simple. For example, when I download a pirated copy of xp in .iso format, all I need to do is burn it and I'm ready to go. If I were on my PC, I would have to go get special software to be able to burn an .iso file.

The only reason I run windows is because I have to for work.

So you're saying that an OS with a bunch of prebundled programs that some users may never use is much more simple than an OS that doesn't have it installed in the first place?

No. Do you even know what I'm talking about? i wouldn't consider disk utility "pre-bundled".
