LBFM was a "term of endearment" used to describe the young ladies who worked in the bars outside the gates of our bases in the PI.
The males of the species were described a little less warmly. Especially the little motherfucker who stole my 1985 RZ350, or my Canon AE1, or the watch my Dad gave me before I left for basic, or my walkman, etc etc.
They had a saying at Clark, "Everything here has been stolen, It just hasn't all been picked up yet"

This is easily the best idea, comment, or paragraph I have ever read on this site. I will be copying your idea & I hope others do the same, as to me this seems like what part of the spirit of Memorial Day should be all about.
Thank you for contributing, and like I said - I will be copying you.Leave a comment:

USN 4 years - catapult and arresting gear, launch and recovery.
Thank you guys for remembering and giving a shit. For me it was an honor to serve.
I want to mention something that I do every Memorial Day. I grab a handful of US flags from the local Target or dollar store and go to any cemetery. I randomly look for the graves of veterans and place a flag on it. I am amazed at how many there are and how few flags are placed. Sadly most have been forgotten or no longer have family. I found a grave from WWI. The most painful one was of a 20 year old Marine. Needless to say it was new. He got a flag, a salute and later a beir.
So guys, my thanks for this thread and remebering.Last edited by FL318is; 11-13-2007, 10:40 AM.Leave a comment:
