    Verizon Phones...

I'm going to be getting a new phone soon. Everyone I know is on Verizon, so I'm going to stick with them. Really all I am looking for is a reliable phone. I don't really care about having TV or whatever, but mp3 wouldn't be too bad.

What are you all using and what do you recommend?

Check out www.verizonwireless.com/next. I have my eye on the Voyager which comes out in a few weeks. That is if I stay with them. Some cool stuff coming out.

Motorola Maxx (Razr on 'roids... )
      2MP cam.
      touch screen mp3 via face
thin and flip w/ no antenna

Works great for me as it always has to be in the pocket.

verizon has the absolutely the worst phones... most beause they insist on using their own gui on most of them.

i would haveever get the max if i HAD to stay with verizon

They have had horrible phone selections in the past but in my part of the country I will take the loss on phone selection anyday over service area. They are FAR superior here in Tn for coverage area compared to other services and because of that I will choose them over any other period.

I have really enjoyed owning it thus far. Im glad I didn't go new razr, this is the best iteration I have used.

Rule of thumb, always get the most updated of the previous model. Otherwise, It's like buying a first year car. More recalls in one year of ownership than car payments.

Have you seen that new one? The Samsung Juke or what ever? It's so annoying to use!
I have my eye on that one that can flip 2 ways and has a key board.
The Voyager is a complete rip off the iPhone. Though I'd buy it over the iPhone any day.

How is the keyboard to use? Buttons too small? Lay out awkward?
I had the VX8300. Good phone except everyone has one. Lense cracks easy, I broke 3. Other than that it is a very durable phone.

Derek, as somebody who is 100% against Verizon on every level, I cannot recommend a single phone that they have.

Verizon has a great idea of taking awesome phones, and removing features, hacking that pathetic Qualcomm/Verizon Developed Operating System on them, and charging you for expanded features, 95% of which are available on any other phone with AT&T/T-Mobile.

If you MUST stick with Verizon, get any Windows based smart phone, the Motorola Q is a decent phone, and you can easily install the non Verizon firmware on it, to turn it into a real powerful phone that is a great addition to you.

I'm currently talking my roommate into dropping Verizon, they are truly an awful provider who take advantage of people who simply don't know any better.

It took some getting used to, I am an AVID texter, since I work and go to school all day and cant talk on the phone. It took a couple days but I can text on it faster than my old numerical. The layout is that of an actual PC Keyboard.
Buttons ARE small though, so if you have chubby fingers, either be prepared to be annoyed or grow your nails and sharpen them. lol.
