I have the speck products. I call it the arnold cover. It works great and has a screen protector which I needed big time.

I guess by skin I meant, layout or background of your home screen. Some of the people on EverythingQ.com made pretty sweet ones and they have BMW/college sports/ and others. If you havent checked that site out I recommend it.

Motorola Q is the shittiest Windows mobile phone out there guys. The only way it can exist as a decent phone is if you

      1) Never install third party software on it
      2) Buy 2-3 extended life batteries and keep them in your pockets at all times

The best phone Verizon offers at the moment is the Blackberry 8703E
      /thread

Edit: I heard a rumor that Verizon is weighing its options on delivering Linux smartphones to U.S Public now

      :)

With hacked firmware its pretty damn good. I dunno the only verizon phone I would EVER be stuck with is the 6700 (which i have on Sprint, hacked to WM6)

And blackberry? Its nothing more then an overpriced business phone that does a horrid job at just about everything.

Although that may be my complete and udder hatred for Blackberry and that stupid BES product.

ya for vzw the pda/smart phones the blackberry 8830 world phone is a good one and the new moto Q

The LG tv phone the vx9400(outside of the tv function) is a good phone

also the vx8350 is a good flip phone.

The new chocolate is a nice slider and much improved over the old one.

Samsung gleam and u740 are both good flip phones the 740 has that dual hinge.

check out phonescoop or howardforums to help ya out

              lol
You must not use your cell phone 24/7 for business purposes and require it to be flawless all the time.
And note, I said Blackberry 8703. The 8703 is one of the best phones on the market. No BS. No weird lithium ion battery recalls. Doesnt break when you drop it. The Pearl is for women who are forced to carry a BB in some form or fashion. The Curve is decent, but the roller ball is flawed badly. Windows Mobile has a long way to go before it will become something great. WM6 is a turd until later releases at least for now.
Enterprise Server is simple and effective. I dont understand what you couldnt like about it? Its just the medium used to communicate with Active Directory and Exchange?

The only reason why I say the Q is a bad phone is the internals. Motorola just missed the mark with making it reliable. Its prone to locking and dying unexpectedly. I've owned several. Cant speak on the Q9 though. But i would imagine any hacked firmware is going to be exactly what you set out for it to be. Customized. Of course its wonderufl.

I'm a systems engineer/infrastructure designer for a large marketing company with worldwide offices. I live on my cellphone, constantly, and nothing beats WM6/WM6 Professional at the moment, Blackberry can try, but they do NOT have the seamless integration with Exchange that Microsoft has.

BES is a horrid product! Why should i pay blackberry tens of thousands of dollars to sync with my exchange server (which goes from my Exchange, to BES, to RIM, to the phone itself) when I can have my Exchange server send data directly to the damn phone, and keep the money I'd otherwise pay to RIM.

The 8703, which I've used and refused to support, is simply another lame attempt at trying to catch up to the mobile business market.

RIM may have technically invented mobile email, but they are following the trend of Novell, supported the business they have, and turning new customers away.

I have not physically worked with it yet, the 755p was the last model I've touched in house, and it was just another Palm device to me.

Currently we are pushing the HTC Touch and HTC Mogul as our supported PDA devices.

We do use Sprint exclusively as well, so pricing tends to favor us a bit.

I'm still on a 6700, however the thing is rock solid, especially with my extended battery.

I agree man. But we've officially left the topic at hand. I've actually got the same title as you, minus the infrastructure design (soon :)) for a large scale paperless accounting firm. You must be running current and up to date at your shop, because the last I heard, WM6 is only able to replicate to the latest and greatest Exchange server. I dont know of any Windows Mobile phone I can heave across the room onto a concrete floor and pick it up and check my email and make a phone call, besides the 8703. Only until recently have the Exchange + WM world been worthwhile.
But back to the topic, Motorola has gone downhill phone wise. Samsung products have been known to be superb.

Agreed on the Palm devices. Im actually trying to finish out my MCSE at the moment and I plan on taking the Windows Mobile elective portion.

Im really interested in the Touch. Do your end users have issues physically with the phones?

BTW, I look at your car once a week to keep me on track with my 86 325es. It motivates me ;)

Hah, agree'd.. and Exchange 2003/2007 can sync with WM2003 and higher devices.

Sorry Derek =/, us I.T. guys can really get heated about our precious networks =)

The Touch is a great phone, really small and compact. However, the touch keyboard is still a major issue for me, however the users that are operating the devices are primarily using it for reading email, and quick little responses. Those of us who want to type out novels on our phones are using the Mogul.

Np. Thats what I figured. Im sitting here with my brick 8703 while everyone else in the world jerks off to the iPhone. Anyways, could talk forever about the subject but my Blackberry rep is here :giggle:

We're switching everyone straggling behind with old Blackberrys to new ones and bundling a firm plan on Sprint. We'll see how this goes.

OP, final note: Choose the phone you like the most in the stores. Get it. Try it out for about a week. Take it back if you dont like, rinse and repeat. You have 15 days to go back on your purchase and exchange or return for something else. I noticed Verizon was carrying the new Samsung slider pimp WM6 PDA. Check that one out. It seemed pretty solid last week when I was in a store.
