wanting a small credit card sized camera for out and about. The prices are all over the place and range from 5mb to 10mb would like a decent zoom and movie with sound capability.
Well, the Canon SD630 has a pretty decent movie with sound mode, and is right about the maximum size I'd want to carry around in my pocket. I guess the SD870 is the new pimpness, with more shooting modes, more MPs, and more functionality.

The Elph line is nice I have looked at this camera alot. The market is just all over the place. Any issues with a refurb? I bought a Olympus awhile back and it was refurbed and did not work the shop in NYC replaced it for free but was a pain in the butt at first.
I've had a Sony point and shoot for several years now and it has been through hell and back and has held it's own. It even has a few cracks in the case from being dropped, but still works.
When I get a new camera, I will get another Sony. For everyday use, they are awesome cameras.
I have an SD1000, does a good job and is really small. Kicking myself for not ponying up for an 850IS. 870IS is basically an 850IS with a 3" screen and no viewfinder. I prefer the view finder.

Yes Sony point and shoots are amazing. Dropped it several times. Thrown it when i was pretty waisted and it still works. been like 3 years now.
I'd suggest a Sony P&S with the Carl Zeiss lens. I really find those take great pictures. One thing to really look at for smaller cameras is the size of the flash. Bigger is always better. I received a Canon SD40 P&S as a gift and absolutely hate it. Small flash, grainy picture quality, all around lame. It's a 7.1 MP iirc, and I've got a much older 4MP Nikon CoolPix which takes far superior pictures.
I loved my Casio EX series Exilim camera. It was awesome till I lost it :( I would highly recommend them. Great picture quality and very small & portable.
