It isn't just tivo and tv, its home automation and a media center.

Tivo doesn't control your lights
Tivo doesn't search your network for media
Tivo doesn't work in multiple rooms
Tivo doesn't follow you on multiple tvs
Tivo doesn't share itself
Tivo doesn't have a built in alarm system
Tivo doesn't call your phone
Tivo doesn't forward calls

Tivo doesn't do 1/100th of the stuff this can

*shrugs* sounds like alot of work for not much to me. I can flick a switch to turn on my lights. Why would I need it to call my phone or forward my calls? I see the potential for it to do quite a bit, I just dont see it as practical. Maybe if I was still big into computer stuff.

I install home a/v for a living, and this is fucking awesome. It can do most of what setups costing tens of thousands of dollars can and more for much much less, and you don't need to hire anyone to program it.

So I watched the entire video today. Amazing stuff, absolutely stunning.

There is a peice of software called mainlobby it can do what this system does and much better. If you have a PC, Tablet and a Global Cache interface you can do what 100K systems do for 3-5K

Very cool, for a windows alternative I HIGHLY suggest mediaportal. Best windows based HTPC software Imo.
