    Direct TV owns...

I finally got tired of Dishnetwork, though its been at least average, it just seemed overpriced. I was paying $80 a month for like 250 stations withtout HD and no movies. I switched to Direct TVs premium package, and it is only $90 a month with like almost 60 HD channels including NFL network, FSN Detroit (Tigers), and spike (TUF). In the sports pack which is included I also get 13 Fox Sports (including Detroit, fuck yeah), and a total of 37 sports channels. Along with HBO, Showtime, skinemax and starz.

And to make it all better. I get $20 off each bill for a year for some reason. I get a $50 Visa card for auto pay. I get $50 for my friend referring me. I get a free HD reciever and a seperate free DVR.... oh yeah and I fucking get the rest of NFL sunday ticket in HD for free.

Im so stoked its going to be a little cheaper (especially now since I can cancel my $30 per month subscription to hollywood video I dont use anyways). And I get to use my 1080p TV on shit other than Madden. No more pixels for me.

So for the money, Direct TV seems so worth it. I retract my vote for Dish Network. I just wish I didnt have to wait the two weeks to get it installed MFers. And thats the upside of my night, since I gotta go wash the BMW lot bright and early tomorrow for some scratch =(

Was that spam or did you pretty much just give us a DirecTV commercial?

And another one is fleeced by the lure of DirecTV telling people they have 60 channels in full HD.

I know its probably not full HD. I think its 720P isnt it? But I did just give em a commercial. The service was great as opposed to dish's. I dont remember seeing direct tv commercials...... but I only watch DVR'd shit, unless its football, and I fast foward through commercials.

It's standard definition upconverted to 720i/p. And upconverted doesn't mean it's converted to true HD, it just looks better. What most people don't know, and don't seem to understand (not you specifically), is that if the source material wasn't filmed in HD, it isn't HD.

Yeah. I have DirecTV, and I placed my account on suspension because the service is so shitty. The picture sucks, and if a big scary cloud crosses the sky I'm SOL until its bright and sunny again.

          - 62" 1080p DLP.

Shit I download off the net and stream to my PS3 to play on the TV looks better than DirecTV's HD content.

Yeah, the guys at best buy were pretty good at explaining that part to me. But the NFL is filmed in HD, so Im sure thats true HD. And really, thats all I care to watch. The rest of the time I let the GF control the remote.

I live on the beach, and we dont really ever get too many clouds where Im at. None that are too ominous at least.

Is it a Toshiba? I had a 62" 1080p DLP Toshiba, and the bulb burnt out in the first 3 weeks. I traded it back in for a Hitachi 42" 1080p plasma. The size difference sucks ass, but the clarity is so much better.

Aim your dish properly. With a poorly aimed dish my signal would break up any time somebody in a 3 block radius farted. After adjusting the dish I don't get any degradation even in heavy rain.

I have direct tv too - but they piss me off. They are on their way right now to fix their bullshit in fact. Fuckers put their dish right in the middle of my brand new roof. Just drilled holes right into it. I was FURIOUS when i saw that shit.
