I was just watching part of that 'Planet Earth' series on Discovery.
They had a segment that was primarily desert life, and there was a bit about ibexes(sp?), then this colored lizard called a flat lizard (body shape), then there was a bit about an animal called an oreck.
If it helps it **might** have been native to North Africa - I could be wrong though.
I can't spell it right, because all I come up with are hits for some guy, a Jap baseball team, and then the vacuum of the same name.
It's a mammal, sort of like a white-tail deer if you had to give it a common identifying likeness, probably goes 150#'s-ish, had a black-n-white striped face/neck, fawn colored torso & I think a white tail. It had 2 straight spikes for horns - they looked to be 2.5x as long as the skull height, and sheer on the sides.
Can anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong on the spelling so I can read about it?
I tried orex, orix, orec - I'm just getting nothing.
Anybody here know their wildlife, or know how to search better than I can?
