    Getting to the Nürburgring

Okay, I'm currently living in Konstanz, Deutschland at the moment and I'm planning on participating in the Ring-Taxi. Konstanz is on the Bodensee (Lake Constance) and is pretty much in Switzerland--on the border, really. I'm just outside of Friedrichshafen, which is a quick boat ride away. In any case, I need to know which trains to take to get to the Nürburgring. I searched on the Deutsche Bahn site but its not giving me the answers I need. Anybody have any experience with getting to the Nürburgring?

PS If you give me the answer, I will post a video of my experience.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

The ring should be closed for the year as well. They have already had a couple of snowfalls.

Nah, it says that the bookings for 2007 are already filled up. 2008 will be available soon, and I'll be sure to be up bright and early that day.

they should just put few ex DTM Gr. A e30 M3s on the track, add rear seats, hire old farts like Ravaglia, Giroix, Hahne, Pirro, Soper and have a go at it, DTM style, show Sabine few lines around the Ring

I'm sure Sabine knows the lines around the ring better. It's her job. Last year on TopGear she said she had about 40K laps on the track which is insane.

slightly off topic, but what is the writing all over the tarmac of the 'ring?
it looks like it is graffiti maybe.....i had always wondered how or why it was there

It's random graffiti, names and logos of car manufacturers, names of drivers, etc. From what I'm told, the track isn't closed off to the public, so fans go out and write the names of their favorite drivers and cars on the track.

                    Josh is right.

the ring was opened still as of last weekend, my buddy took his EVO 9 out there, so I am not sure about the closure date

                      It's closed during snowfall.

Which just makes the bad-assery of the place that much more bad ass... not that it needs any help.

Except when bimmerforums tagged the carussel.
