    Wisdom Teeth

How necessary is it to get them removed? Mine hurt like a bitch, so much that last nite I woke up because the pain was so bad.

If you do get them taken out, do you get any cool medications?

Depends how cool you think vicodin is. Had 4 of mine (all impacted) pulled a few years back. I was out the following night with some buds. It's not bad at all.

Mine weren't bad. My doctor only gave me Tylenol 3 which didn't do shit, but it was more of a discomfort than pain.

Get 'em done. Better now than later, just have them knock you out for it and depending on your condition, expect pain for a couple days.

Everyone i've talked to has been out for different ammounts of time.

Something else to note is, if its painful, that usually means its time to pull em. The pain can sometimes be caused by small local infections. If they're peaking out and uber tender, pull em bro.

I had mine out before they started impacting or anything. I also didn't feel any pain whatsoever after the operation which was on a Friday. I felt fine on Sunday and went back to school/work on Monday.

I need to get mine done too. My dad never got his done and now must go to a plastic surgeon, did it for the tops, because the root start to impact his nasal cavity. Out and now he's cool.

I was thinking about asking Justin (gazellebeigeM3) to do them. Please? Is this an activity we should do at e30festohio '08

The older you get, the slower your body recovers from surgery. So if you know you are going to get them out eventually, then get them out now. If they chronically hurt, you should just go ahead and get them out.

The procedure is usually covered by dental insurance if you have it. I don't know how old you are or how much you can afford to spend on surgery.

Within a couple days you feel fine, but it's a bit longer until the holes in your mouth are actually healed over. Nearly complete healing takes 10-14 days I think.

I'm lucky. I don't expect to get wisdom teeth. I'm almost 20 and they haven't showed up yet and on top of that, my mom never had them, so...

Mine weren't that bad. I'm a large guy and I guess they didn't give me of what ever they use for anesthesia, so I woke up during the surgery. I guess they gave me more, because after a minute I went back to sleep. The grogginess when I got home was worse than the pain, I think I only took one or two of the pain pills.

I still have mine in with no issues. And yes, you will get a fun Rx. Maybe I just go to Dr. Feelgood, but I've gotten some fun stuff after dental work.

I had mine out a while ago, where they put me under. It was a while ago, so I don't remember much about it, but hey- if I don't remember it especially, it couldn't have been that bad.
