Anyone Still Play Quake 2 Online?

Thursday night guys night out has turned into guys night in with the cold weather at hand.

We've started playing Q2 deathmatch and CTF mods (mainly Awaken2) and were curious if anyone other than us still plays.

Currently "Thrusday Night Bitch Fights" is a local server but if anyone on the forums still plays I can easily make it a public server and give you my IP. We usually average 6-8 local players and can handle up to 16.

original quake ftw. i use to play that shit online non stop years and years ago.

i never could get down with quake 2.

fire up a r3v cs server and i'll have to install that game again.

Q1 and Q3 FTW. Man, I remember when GLQuake or WinQuake ports came out, 28k online fragfests looking for servers with sub 200ms pings lol

I recoded part of Q2 so it was really close to Q3 graphics and made a CS style game out of it. It had pedestrians that would walk around and you could kill for fun. Aw man it was cool. It was called protosphere but its almost no where online anymore.

I remember playing Q1 with a friend of mine who also happens to be on this board now too, and having to tie up the phone line and "call" eachothers houses to connect. The phone would ring and we'd have to be like "Moooom dont answer the phone!!" lol. Sometimes it didn't work and whoever picked up got an earfull of nasty noises from the computer :)
