i live in bmore (when not at school in PA), havent been to the other two cities but its well, OK. downtown is cleaning up rather nicely, and there are a good number of bmws around here or just wealthy people that need work done to their nice cars. weather sucks id like a more warm climate if you ask me.

My brother just bought a house in Virginia Beach which ~15 miles from Norfolk. He's 30, newly single and says it's a pretty badass place to live. Nice weather, nice people, his house is awesome although he paid a grip for it.

yeah, the few times I've been to Va. Beach/Norfolk, it was pretty nice from what I remember. I've only been down there during the summer, and it was humid, but great place to live if you don't have to be near the Naval base.

IMHO. I can't say enough good things about Norfolk. I was born there and my Dad was in the navy there. The people are the great because alot of them are in the service.They are very family oriented and from what i remember always willing to help. I was considering moving back there later in life. Great place for kids to grow up, great schools, and lots of places for recreation and pleasure. The scenary is awesome like the shenendoah valley and you cant miss the beach and the sunsets. I also think there is no sales tax at leat back in 91 there wasn't

Which of these towns would you guys recommend on these principals:
-good job market
-good nightlife/downtown
-reasonable living costs
-good weather
- other factors (discuss).

I need to move back to the US in January to not loose my greencard (thx p. act)
I'm in the marketing/management feild with a decent b.s. degree.. I hate suburbia, the bible belt (no offense to anyone), i like decent weather and would rather stay on the east coast.

I voted Charlotte. Mild weather, and equal driving distance to the mountains or beach.

You know the area pretty well, it's a nice place.
