does anyone know any good deals on external hard drives?

do you guys use them and if so are they reliable data storage devices? ive heard about them randomly losing data but maybe thats a rare occurance. id like one specifically for future hard drive upgrades so i dont have to use another computer.

I have had a 200 gb Maxtor one for a couple years and it hasnt let me down. I store all my music and photos on it.

I got a WD passport last year off Best Buy during Black Friday deals. You can compare prices and choose - sometimes BB is cheaper with year end sales.
